My brain is full of trash
Sewage leaks from my eyes, ears, nose and mouth
My head is packed full of self; packed full of world
lacking in Christ
Everything I hear is relevant
Everything new becomes real
I am sick
When did chronology become my master?
How did information become so muddled?
I've allowed my Truth to be warped
My purity carries a burden of refuse
Culture forces my Message away from relevancy
Perspective must past through a film of putrescence
Dear God! Help me to see
Remove these scales from my mind
Purify my O God
Nothing matters apart from You
Simplify me

We are to live in this world. There is no escape, no other option. Conformity, however, is not an option either. Living is a matter of the mind, an attitude. Materialism, hedonism (pleasure seeker), narcissism (lover of self), success, safety and control dominate our culture. We as Christians must be careful that these factors do not dominate our mind nor direct our lifestyle in place of our devotion to Christ, our Savior.
