Sarah and I are so grateful and blessed to have such a wonderful group of people who support and love us so much. Because I know that you all want the very best for our lives, I’d like to ask for your prayers. As most of you know, Sarah and I have applied for the Journeyman program, and been invited to a final interview/conference which will take place February 18-21 in Richmond, Virginia. At this conference the IMB staff will be talking and praying with us to help us decide where God might be able to use us best. We will be talking to representatives from different parts of the world to see what kind of work God is doing in those places, and how we might best join the work that He is already doing. At the end of the conference we will have chosen our top three locations and jobs that we feel God is calling us to. If offered a job we will be working as missionaries for approximately two years. Obviously Sarah and I are very excited and very very nervous about the outcome of this trip to Virginia. I keep thinking that I would be relieved at being accepted OR rejected! We are trying to remember to have faith that everything will work out according to God’s plan.
Psalm 66:20 says, “Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!” I believe that when we pray we allow the Holy Spirit to speak through us, and bring us better knowledge of God’s will. Sarah and I would like all the help we can get as we take these next important steps in our lives. So here are some of the things we would like you all to pray with us about:
• That we would allow ourselves to be spiritually prepared to serve God to our best potential should
we be offered a job with the Journeyman program. Specifically for humility and a flexible spirit.
• For the IMB staff who have the tough decision of choosing the people God wants to use this year.
• That we would not be offered jobs if this is not the path God has set for us.
• For peace of mind, confidence, and clarity when we’re at the conference interviewing.
• That we would remember to look for ways to love others the second we walk into a room rather
than thinking of ourselves first.
• Safe travel and lots of energy.
• For the missionaries already working. Pray that the journeyman coming to help them would be
perfectly prepared by God for the task at hand.
• If we are not accepted to the Journeyman program, we would appreciate prayer that we will
quickly find a different way to share our faith and serve God in the way He intended for us (we’re
not very patient).
• Prayer for patience!
• For complete confidence in God
• That the conference will challenge us to develop a closer relationship with our Lord so that we may
better hear His voice.
• That we will be able to encourage, fellowship and form friendship with the other Journeyman
candidates at the conference with us.

Also, we would like to remind you all that we have not yet been accepted to the program.
